How can I make a reservation?

Use our Contact Us page or give us a call at 240-696-6365, option 2! You can also email us at info@hsjent.com and we will respond within 24 hours! If there is no answer when you call, leave a message! You will receive correspondence within 3 hours.

How can I Pay?

We require a 20% non-refundable security deposit to hold your reservation. Your account must be paid in full at least 3 business days prior to your event, but special arrangements can be made if agreed by Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment. You can pay your deposit using your debit or credit card. If you are a company, church, school, or other organization, please call us for information on your payment options. Please make your checks payable to Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment. Processing of checks will require an additional 3 business days. Returned checks will be charged a $42.50 returned check fee. Your reservation is not confirmed until the deposit has been received and processed by our office. 

How far in advance should I make my reservation?

You should make your reservations as soon as possible. Our moon bounces are very popular and sometimes we are booked weeks and even months in advance. Saturdays are our most popular rental days.

What if I cancel my event?

The security deposit is non-refundable should you cancel your event. Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment will extend a "Second Chance" to you for a future rental. When we receive a deposit, it lets Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment know "this event is going to happen", therefore the equipment is taken out of our inventory for that day and can not be re-rented.

What happens if it rains the day of my event?

Most of our equipment can be set inside of a gymnasium or recreation center. Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment will allow you to apply your "Second Chance" to a future rental or reschedule your current event.  The security deposit guarantees that we hold the equipment for your event only. Therefore, we cannot refund your deposit should you cancel due to rain. Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment reserves the right to cancel your event if other weather situations arise, or for reasons deemed appropriate by Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment. 

Do I have to rent for the entire day or can I rent for shorter/longer periods of time?

Our standard rates are for 4 to 6-hour rentals. However, we are flexible and can allow you to keep the unit for longer if needed. 

Do you deliver and set up?

Of course! Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment drivers will deliver, set up and take down the moon bounce unit. They can be identified by their shirts with the Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment logo on the front.  We also ensure that the units are clean and in good working condition as we test the units for safety after set up. It takes approximately 15-30 minutes to set up the unit and to review the operator safety procedures with you.

What time do you deliver and pickup the moon bounces?

You decide on the specific rental time, which is agreed upon at the time of the booking, and we will be there anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes before your event. We pick up the unit after the event is over, but if you want to shorten it or extend it, let us know.

Do you provide attendants?

Before we leave, we train a responsible adult on how to operate the equipment safely; however, we do not provide attendants for backyard rentals. They can be provided for an additional fee. We will, however, provide staffing for larger events.

How much space do I need?

You will approximately need an area of 19' X 19' and a vertical height that can allow at least 15' of clearance. Imagine 2 cars parked side by side in your set up area.

Does the moon bounce require power?

Yes. Our moon bounces plug into a standard 120 volt household outlet. Customers are responsible for providing power for the moon bounce, however, Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment does provide customers with a 50 or 100-foot extension cord. We ask that nothing else be plugged into the outlet that we are utilizing. If you are setting up in a park or a place without electrical outlets within 50 ft, let our customer service agents know and we can provide a generator for an additional $70 per day.

What type of surface can the moon bounce be placed on?

The BEST surface is a level grassy area. Our units are anchored into the ground with 24" stakes for stability and safety. Therefore, the renter is responsible to locate and identify all underground utilities/sprinkler lines prior to our arrival. We can also set up on any level surface such as concrete, asphalt, dirt and even indoor gymnasiums. Please specify when ordering which surface we will be setting up on so we can provide the appropriate anchors for your event.

Are Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment's inflatable units safe?

Yes. Our moon bounces are constructed to be as safe as possible. As with any activity involving small children, an adult should supervise the activity. This will help to ensure that the few simple rules continue to be followed and that someone is always there to assist children entering and exiting the moon bounce.

Is Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment insured?

Yes! Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment is a fully insured Maryland company. A copy of our insurance policy as proof of coverage can be provided upon request. For events on public property, additional insurance may be required. Please contact us for any information on charges that may apply. Municipalities, schools, churches, and other venues may contact us in advance to make the proper arrangements. The lessee or using party shall be in charge of operation after receiving each unit. Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment is not responsible for any injuries occurring to lessee or to any persons using the leased units or equipment or to any damage to personal property.

What kind of training does Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment employees have? 

All of our employees hold Advanced certification in training from the Safe Inflatable Operators Training Organization, a nationally recognized organization for inflatable training and safety. That tells you that we take safety very seriously, as it is our #1 priority over your satisfaction!

Are the moon bounces clean?

Yes. All of our moon bounces are thoroughly cleaned between each use. We are committed to making sure that your children have a clean, healthy, and safe environment in which to play. In addition to cleaning, we also safety check and troubleshoot all equipment before it goes out to another customer. This way, you're always guaranteed a unit that is safe, clean, and in good working order.

What are the appropriate ages for entering a moon bounce?

Moon bounces are age specific, and it depends on the type of moon bounce desired. Some of our moon bounces are only designed for kids 2-7 years of age, while our other moon bounces are for all ages. All activity should still be supervised by a responsible adult always during the entire time of the rental! Please check our safety chart below for specifications.


How many children can fit inside a moon bounce?

Between 6-10 kids at a time. The number varies upon the size of the moon bounce you are interested in.

Do you set up in parks?

Yes. You will be responsible for obtaining any necessary permits. A generator may be required because not all park locations have electricity. We provide generators for an additional $70 per day.

How much ice is needed for the SnoCone machine?

Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment does not provide ice for your event. We may, at our discretion, provide a starter bag of ice for demonstration purposes. If ice is requested, an additional fee of $5 per 7 pounds of ice will be charged. A ½ pound of ice is required per serving. Example: For 100 servings you will need 50 pounds of ice.


When I order a concession, how much supplies come with it?

When a concession is ordered, it comes with enough supplies for 25 guests. This only includes the ingredients for the popcorn machine, the sugar and cones for the cotton candy machine, and the syrup for the SnoCone machine. Instructions and a demonstration will be provided to each guest before each rental. Please have a responsible adult in charge of the concessions to prevent damage to the equipment.

What should we do to get ready for our moon bounce rental?

Make sure you know where you want your moon bounce and make sure there is enough room. We will do a courtesy visit to see exactly where you want your moon bounce. Also, make sure your outside plug is working. That means….plug something in and test it! We need electricity within 100 feet minimum. We are not responsible for providing power, and if requested at the time of the event, will cause an inconvenience in your event, delay the start, and result in additional charges. 

The second thing is, make sure you mow your lawn the day before, not the same day or the morning of set up. It will help keep the moon bounce clean for your kids' enjoyment. Also, if you have a dog, please clean the yard of any waste before we come. It will help to keep odors away while your kids are jumping, and will prevent any soiling of our unit(s). If you have a water slide rental, don't water your lawn for a few days before your party. Water slides use a lot of water, and if your grass needs it, it will absorb it a lot better if it is dry.

What are your safety rules/regulations?

1. 
AT NO TIME SHOULD THE EQUIPMENT BE LEFT UNATTENDED!
2. All occupants must remove their shoes before entering the unit.
3. All occupants are to be assisted when entering and exiting the unit.
4. Occupants are sorted by size. Only occupants of the same size should be allowed in the unit at the same time. Please see chart for height and weight guidelines.
5. No climbing, hanging or pulling on the nets, slides, top or back of the units.
6. No roughhousing/horseplay in or around the unit.
7. At any given time, Slide/Slip & Slide shall be limited to one person.
8. At any given time, Bouncer/Moonwalk capacity should not exceed the manufacturer’s suggestions.
9. Units should not be used if winds exceeds 15 mph or in rain/lightning conditions.
10. All participants entering the unit must remove all loose or sharp objects, to include but not limited to: glasses, dangling jewelry and/or belts.
11. No food, drinks, pets, silly string or gum should be allowed in/on or near the unit.
12. No open flame, flammables or smoking within 50 feet of the unit, blower or generator.
13. Keep children and guests away from blowers, electrical outlets, extension cords, and any other equipment associated with the unit.
14. The operator should position himself/herself in close proximity of the entrance of the unit.
15. The operator must strictly enforce the rules posted on the warning signs.
16. The operator MUST remain in control of the unit at all times.


What if I have a problem during my event?

Problems are not very common here at Hop Skip & Jump Entertainment, but we have a procedure in place to make sure you enjoy every minute of your rental period. In the event that you experience any difficulties or have any questions while our equipment is at your event, please call the emergency number that is listed on the top of every contract. This number is in place so we can ensure that everything goes well with your rental. If you experience an issue and do not inform us until your event is over, we do not have the opportunity to assist you or fix the problem. Therefore, no refunds or credits will be issued if you do not contact us for assistance and/or troubleshooting.
